Helping you find your own way forward

Would it feel good to slow things down, untangle an over-busy mind, and move forward feeling lighter?
When the demands of life—at home, at work, or in leadership—begin to weigh heavily, it can start to affect your energy, confidence, and mental wellbeing. You may feel stretched, uncertain, or a little disconnected from yourself.
My coaching is supportive, compassionate, and completely judgement-free. Together, we’ll notice the thoughts that aren’t serving you, explore kinder and more helpful ways of thinking, and walk alongside the challenges you’re facing—helping you rediscover the ‘you’ that you may feel you have lost, or perhaps never fully found.
Coaching outdoors offers a different kind of space. By walking or wandering in nature, we create calm, breathing room, and perspective. Away from screens and expectations, there’s time to reflect, reconnect, and gently rebuild inner resources.

Experiencing grief or loss
-
Feeling low, anxious, or depleted

Needing a confidence boost
-
Feeling isolated or out of sync with those around you
-
Sensing you need ‘something more’ from life

Hi, I'm Diana West
How Does It Work?
My coaching is available online, or you can experience coaching outdoors both in person and remotely. Even when we talk on the phone, being outside brings a powerful sense of calm and clarity to the coaching experience.
I Offer:
Helpful to Know:
We can mix in person and remote coaching.
The length of sessions can be adapted to suit what works for you (1 to 1 sessions usually last for 90 minutes).
1 to 1 coaching sessions usually happen every three or four weeks, with longer gaps once the coaching relationship has been established.
The time between sessions is often where the magic happens, with the coaching session acting as a catalyst for new thinking.

Coaching Services
Leadership Coaching (1:1)
We bring our whole selves to work. Feeling unsupported, overwhelmed, or unsure in leadership can quietly affect every part of life. Equally, personal challenges outside work can make leading feel heavier than it needs to be.
Coaching offers space to think, reflect, and regain perspective. You’ll leave sessions with greater clarity, a clearer sense of direction, and practical strategies to support you through change and challenge.
Leadership Coaching is about more than leadership strategies. We can think of leadership as personal leadership as well as leading others. We might look at how well we know ourselves, the pushes, pulls and constraints, we work with or how to find balance through taking in the big picture for example.

Wellbeing Coaching (1:1)
It’s often only when the balance tips—when feeling low or anxious begins to outweigh joy or motivation—that we truly recognise how precious our mental health is.
My wellbeing coaching offers a space where you are deeply listened to and gently supported. Clients often leave sessions feeling lighter, more confident, and better resourced to move forward and thrive.
Wellbeing coaching includes support for grief and loss, helping you to make sense of what you’re experiencing at your own pace, without trying to “fix” or rush your grief. If you are unsure whether coaching or counselling would be most beneficial for you, please get in touch for a chat. Some key differences are:
-
Counselling often involves a shorter weekly or bi -weekly session, coaching sessions are usually less frequent and longer
-
Counselling usually focusses on understanding and coming to terms with our past experiences, coaching usually focuses on what we are experiencing now and how we can shape the future.
-
Counselling (including Psychotherapy/Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) supports people who are experiencing mental illness, or significant, long term mental health challenges which require medication or healthcare support. Coaching may be a good fit if you feel generally ‘ok’ or a little up and down and seek change—whether that’s managing stress better, finding more balance, or reconnecting with what matters to you.
"The most common way that people give up their power is by not thinking they have any"
- Alice Walker
“ with an adventurous heart and the right maps, we can travel anywhere and never fear losing ourselves”
- Brene Brown
We delight in the beauty of a butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

Coaching Services
Group Coaching
There is something powerful about being in a safe group with people with a common goal, who understand and listen. I aim to create a group coaching space free from comparison or competition, allowing supportive conversations, shared learning, and creative thinking to emerge.
Participants leave with a sense of connection, fresh perspectives, and practical ideas. Often a key take away is the reassurance that they are not alone in their experiences or thinking.

Coaching Outdoors
Coaching outdoors—whether in person or remotely—offers a unique blend of courageous thinking and the restorative power of nature. It’s a space where reflection deepens, ideas flow more freely, and change feels possible.
“I loved that we were both outdoors during our sessions—it felt physically and mentally healthy. Di listened without judgement, gently challenged my thinking when needed, and brought warmth and humour at just the right moments.”
Wherever we meet, I support people to navigate times when inner resources feel stretched or out of balance. Leaders I work with gain perspective, feel less alone, and grow in confidence—even when navigating uncertainty or change.

About Me
Diana West
Some years ago, I stepped away from a career in educational leadership and into the unknown. It was a time filled with contrasts—bravery and fear, excitement and uncertainty, support and loneliness.
I was drawn to coaching after experiencing first-hand how transformational it can be. Taking my coaching outdoors grew naturally from my own resilience practices—time spent walking, climbing, running, biking, and simply being outside.
Nature brings balance. Coaching brings perspective. Together, they create a gentle but powerful space for insight and change.

Working Together
I work with individuals, leaders, groups, and organisations across the public and private sectors. I lead the wellbeing team for the mental health charity Mind Over Mountains, the group coaching course for Barefoot Coaching Ltd. and to co host a bi monthly group coaching forum for other coaches Sandra Whiles.
I bring my lived experience into every coaching relationship—offering honesty, empathy, and insight shaped by years of navigating complex leadership challenges.
Please contact me for a free, no obligation chat to find out more about working with me, whether indoors or outdoors, in person or remotely.
